Seas of Oman
Gulf of Oman: The Gulf of Oman is deep close to shore, so big fish like tuna, kingfish and trevally come near the coast. Tides run twice a day.
Arabian Sea: The Arabian Sea is open to the ocean with strong tides, and in autumn (June–September) it gets very rough.

Laws & safety
Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Water Resources (recreational licence). Kingfish breeding ban. Dhofar khareef (June–Sept): very rough sea at Salalah and the Arabian Sea coast.
Wear a life jacket, tell someone where you are, and don't take a boat out if wind exceeds 28 km/h or waves exceed 1 m.
